How You Can Clean and Store Your Golf Clubs in the Right Manner

Want to keep the golf clubs looking good? Then you can follow the tips mentioned in this post.

You have tried several rounds in the current golf season. Rain or sunshine, you are highly dedicated to the course. But the golf clubs have become a little grimy after the constant chipping, putting, and swinging. Now, it is time for proper cleaning of the golf clubs. Knowing how you can keep the golf clubs in the right manner can make them last longer for more rounds in the future. A clean set of golf clubs will enable you to enhance the performance of the game as well. Do not forget about the proper storage of these accessories, keeping them safe between the rounds can make them ready to perform for the next trip.

How You Can Clean the Golf Clubs-

A good and thorough cleaning of the clubs keeps them good for long, but it will help you perform a better game. Grass and dirt particles can be built up in the grooves of the club, which will hereby affect the spin and control of the same. It will negatively affect the club's performance, mainly iron and wedges. To enhance the performance of the club, you should consider a good cleaning practice for at least a few rounds. It is better to scrub the clubs before you store than at the end of each season.

Before getting into details, make sure you have all the things needed to clean the clubs. Here is the list-

  1. A bucket
  2. Few towels
  3. Soft-bristled brush
  4. Light dish soap
  5. Water

Cleaning the clubs is a 2-step process. You should start from the clubheads and then cleaning the shaft and the grips. To clean the head of the golf clubs-

  1. Fill the bucket with lukewarm water and add a small amount of dish soap
  2. Take the club and dunk the clubhead in the water for sometime
  3. Remove the club and wipe the head down with the use of towel
  4. Scrub away the debris from the grooves with the use of a golf cleaning brush

Cleaning the clubhead is just half the job. The moisture and oil content from your hands can cause the grips to become slippery with longer use. To clean the shaft and grip-

  1. Take the second towel and run it under the water
  2. Wipe away the grip. Do not soak the grip in water or use the soap or brushes
  3. Clean the shaft by wiping it down

No matter when you want to store the clubs, in between the rounds or at the end of the season, storage is very crucial. You should store the clubs in a climate-controlled area to prevent humidity and moisture from coming in. To give added protection, use the rain cover over the golf bag. It will prevent the clubs from getting damaged due to dents and scratches. You can buy the best golf cleaning kit from a reliable company.
